What is the Rosé Shower?
The Cola Rosé Shower is a powerful celebration rooted in honoring women’s strength, sisterhood, and health. It blends fun, fashion, and philanthropy in a way that shines a light on critical but often overlooked aspects of women’s wellness. Held at Williams-Brice Stadium, the event transforms Columbia’s most masculine symbol pink for a day to promote unity around the cause of women’s health.
Approximately 50% of women in the United States ages 18-64 reported having an ongoing medical condition that required monitoring, care, or medication, according to the 2024 KFF Women’s Health Survey. This rate increases with age, from 41% of women ages 18-49 to 65% of women ages 50-64. Nearly one in five (17%) say that they have an ongoing health condition that keeps them from participating fully in school, work, housework, or other activities.
After 10 years of being challenged with fibroids undergoing all possible treatments, iron infusions, and several surgeries I had no choice but to have a hysterectomy at age 36. As women, so much is expected of us that we often suffer in silence and we are never given the opportunity to speak about our plights. My hysterectomy not only gave me back my life, it gave me the courage to share my story.
At 36 years of age, I did not have children, so instead of having a baby shower, I decided to have a Rosé Shower, my version of a baby shower. In lieu of receiving gifts, I wanted to bring awareness to feminine care and period poverty by asking everyone to wear a shade of pink and bring feminine products to be donated to Sistercare Women’s Shelter. What better place to host it than William Brice Stadium, to turn the most masculine symbol in Columbia pink for a day!
From my personal journey grew a powerful space where women feel seen, heard, and celebrated—whether battling cancer, fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, hysterectomies, menopause, or other healthcare challenges. As women, so much is expected of us that we often suffer in silence and we are never given the opportunity to speak about our plights. All women, regardless of age, ethnicity, or background—face their own unique challenges, or have a mother, sister, aunt, cousin, or friend who can deeply relate.
Cola Rosé Shower is more than an event, it’s a movement that brings together diverse communities, highlights local businesses, and promotes community pride all while elevating women and healthcare.
God has blessed me in so many ways and has put me on this journey for reasons only He can fathom. This is truly a journey of unity, one that we can do together! Together, let’s raise awareness—and raise our glasses!
Impact:
The 4th Annual Cola Rosé Shower proved once again the power of unity and purpose, gathering 400 attendees dressed in pink from across South and North Carolina to support women’s healthcare and period poverty awareness.
With the stadium lights glowing pink in a striking show of solidarity, the event achieved a new milestone—collecting over 62,000 feminine hygiene products for Sistercare and The Period Project, two organizations dedicated to supporting women in need. Supplying Sistercare with eight months of donations.
Whether you donate, sponsor, volunteer, or host a product drive, there are countless ways to support! Interested in getting involved? Send us a message.
