What is the Rosé Shower?
The Cola Rosé Shower is a powerful celebration rooted in honoring women’s strength, sisterhood, and health. It blends fun, fashion, and philanthropy in a way that shines a light on critical but often overlooked aspects of women’s wellness. Held at Williams-Brice Stadium, the event transforms Columbia’s most masculine symbol pink for a day to promote unity around women’s health.
Approximately 50% of women in the United States ages 18-64 reported having an ongoing medical condition that required monitoring, care, or medication, according to the 2024 KFF Women’s Health Survey. This rate increases with age, from 41% of women ages 18-49 to 65% of women ages 50-64. Nearly one in five (17%) say that they have an ongoing health condition that keeps them from participating fully in school, work, housework, or other activities.
After a decade of battling fibroids and undergoing every possible treatment—including iron infusions and multiple surgeries—I ultimately had no choice but to have a hysterectomy at just 36 years old. As women, so much is expected of us that we often endure our struggles in silence, rarely given the space to openly share our experiences. While my hysterectomy gave me my life back, it also gave me the courage to tell my story.
At 36 years of age, I did not have children, and realized I would probably never have a baby shower. Instead of a baby shower, I created a Rosé Shower—my own version of celebrating strength and resilience. In lieu of gifts, I asked guests to wear a shade of pink and bring feminine hygiene products to be donated to Sistercare Women’s Shelter, helping raise awareness around feminine care and period poverty. And what better place to host it than Williams-Brice Stadium, turning one of Columbia’s most masculine symbols pink for a day.
From my personal journey grew something much larger: a powerful space where women feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Whether they are facing cancer, fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, hysterectomies, menopause, or other health challenges, the Rosé Shower brings women together in solidarity and support.
Because the truth is, every woman—regardless of age, ethnicity, or background—faces her own unique challenges, or loves someone who does: a mother, sister, aunt, cousin, or friend. The Rosé Shower exists to ensure that no woman has to feel alone in those experiences.
God has blessed me in so many ways and has put me on this journey for reasons only He can fathom. This is truly a journey of unity, one that we can do together! Let’s raise awareness, and raise our glasses!
Impact:
The 5th Annual Cola Rosé Shower proved once again the power of unity and purpose, gathering over 500 attendees dressed in pink from across South and North Carolina to support women’s healthcare and period poverty awareness.
To date, the Cola Rosé Shower has collected over 100,000 feminine hygiene products for Sistercare and The Period Project, two organizations dedicated to supporting women in need. Supplying Sistercare with eight months of donations in one year.
Whether you donate, sponsor, volunteer, or host a product drive, there are countless ways to support! Interested in getting involved? Send us a message.
